Produced and Bought with Counterfeit Tender

This is one leaf of a review of "Inside Mormonism: What Mormons Really Believe" by Isaiah Bennett

Bennett's statement: While its outward "fruits" may have appeared good, they were produced and bought with counterfeit tender.

This is a very strange statement. I surmise Bennett simply didn't know what to write here so he strung some words together.

Mormon doctrine is solid, logical, based on revelation from God, harmonizing with scripture; the founders (Joseph Smith, Oliver Cowdery, Brigham Young, Parley Pratt, etc.) gave their lives to bring it about. Millions of witnesses certify that God endorses it; and there really isn't anything counterfeit about it.
